This fantastic Toto washlet simply replaces your toilet seat, not your toilet. The main differences between this model and the $450 model is that this unit provides a pulsating cleanse, warm air dryer, air purifier, and remote control (instead of a connected control panel). It still cleanses your front and back sides with a warm water spray valve and you control the water's temperature and pressure through the remote control. The toilet seat is also heated (and ventilated) and its temperature is controlled through the remote control as well.
Cleansing occurs through a safely distanced wand that comes out of the washlet. It dispenses warm water and retracts itself once it is no longer needed. Additionally, this model employs "soft close" technology which means the toilet seat will never be slammed again--it will softly descend when you put it down.
Please note that this Toto model will fit all Toto home toilets except the Dorian model. All round and elongated models are compatible. Round models are identified as toilet seats measuring less than 18 inches in length. Elongated toilet seats measure more than 18 inches in length.
